IRISH MUSIC CLUB CHILDREN - DON'T FORGET TO BUY YOUR TICKET FOR THE IRISH CEILI PARTY FROM MISS EARLEY - TICKETS COST £2 EACH - IRISH CEILI PARTY THURSDAY 16TH MARCH 2017
Irish Music Club 2016/17
Irish Music Club is a club run by Miss Earley and Mr McCallan every Monday after school in Miss Earley's classroom. Together, Miss Earley and Mr McCallan teach tin whistle, guitar, ukulele, flute, piano and fiddle. If you are interested in learning an instrument or already play and would like to join the group, please pop and see Miss Earley.
During the Autumn term, the children have been learning many Christmas carols on their instruments including: Jingle Bells, Silent Night, Rudolph The Red-nosed Reindeer and We Wish You A Merry Christmas. We have welcomed many new members of the club who have begun learning either the tin whistle or fiddle and are playing brilliantly already! Everyone performed at the Christmas Music Showcase at the end of term for their parents, family, friends and the rest of the school. It was fantastic! Well done!
During the Spring term, the children are learning new tunes in preparation for their performance at the Irish Festival in March 2017 at the Town Hall. The children have been learning a slide and a beautiful waltz called Inisheer. They will also be looking forward to their visits to Sandilands Primary School to meet up with the children of the Irish Music Club there. We will be coming together with Mr Sanderson and the pupils to play music together as part of the Wythenshawe Irish Music Collective. We look forward to performing together at the Royal Northern College of Music in July 2017 for the One Education Music Showcase.
