Harvest Celebration
We celebrate Harvest annually by holding a Harvest celebration service at our local church, St Michael & All Angels. Reverend Caroline works closely with our pupils to create an educational service and Miss Earley leads the children in singing Harvest songs. Our Year 6 pupils compose prayers and recite them during the service and parents and families are invited to celebrate Harvest with us.
Article of the Month: Article 24 - the right to good food, clean water and to see a doctor if you are ill.
During October, we focus on Article 24-the right to good food, clean water and to see a doctor if you are ill.
Through whole school assemblies and lessons, pupils learn about the meaning of harvest, how food banks support local families and how our community can help others. Children create posters and write articles to persuade people to donate food to their local food bank.
Our families and staff donate food to the Wythenshawe Food Bank every year and Mrs Jones works closely with families in our school community, helping them to access food if needed. Our Year 6 pupils use the school minibus to bring the donated food and supplies to the food bank.
